BLA Winter Warm-Up
What
Playing indoors on a box field is proven to be the best way to develop stick skills, field awareness and quickness. The Winter Warm-Up games are November through January on Sunday mornings. The winter sessions were developed to continue the BLA mission of:
- Providing lacrosse experiences to everyone in the Buffalo-Niagara region
- Enhancing the athletic ability and skill of area players
- Using lacrosse to promote character development
Whom
The Winter Warm-Up is open to any interested lacrosse player in the Buffalo area, however the limited spots available for each age group will be open at first to only the boys intending on playing for the BLA Select Teams.
Age Groups and Times
9:00 am - 10 am (12 and Under: Grades 5-6)
10:00 am - 11 am (14 and Under: Grades 7-9)
11:00 - 12 am (17 and Under: Grades 10-12)
Please note that age groups and times are subject to change based on player registration and ability.

Game Format
- Games are 45 minutes - two twenty minute halves.
- Games will be played 5 on 5 with a goalie
- Limited number of players per age group to maximize playing time
- All players should arrive at time above. Warm-up begins at the top of the hour.
- 4 x 4 nets
- Outdoor lacrosse rules
- Smaller field with boards so players gain greater stick control
- Defensive long poles will not be permitted.
- Experienced coaches from the BLA instruction team.
- Reversible jersey included
Requirements
- Possess strong moral character
- Willingness to learn and work hard
- US Lacrosse membership
- Equipment: All players are responsible to provide their own equipment including helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves and mouthpiece. Failure to have any of the above will prevent athlete from participating on that given day. If you are a first time lacrosse player and in need of equipment, Blue Bison Sports in the Transitown Plaza (4185 Transit Road Williamsville, NY 14221 Ph: 716-631-4792) has an equipment package on special if you tell them you are from the BLA.

- $180 for BLA Select Team Players
- $200 for General Registration
Please note that payment is due up front. No player will be allowed to participate until payment is received. Also, the fees above do not include your US Lacrosse Membership, which is required to participate in all BLA events. This will be strictly enforced.
