Winning the MCLA DI National Championship, Colorado State Attackmen Sean Smith is selected to the RMLC second team.  Sean was a focal point the Rams offense during their national championship run with 9 points in 4 tournament games.  The sophomore playmaker finishes the season with 12 goals and 39 assists.

Zach Stubbendeck, a senior at Coastal Carolina, is named SELC honorable mention.  Going 59-52 at the faceoff X, Zach also netted 7 goals and added 1 helper leading Coastal Carolina to 10 - 2 record.

RIT senior midfielder Jordan Collins-Hartwig earns DIII Third Team All-American.  Jordan was a key piece to the Tigers NCAA tournament run in 2012 and 2011.  This year he amassed 27 goals and 12 assists, setting a personal best against Union on April 18th scoring 6 goals - all of which came in the second half.   Jordan also graduates as one of RIT's all-time greats with over 100 career points to his name.  Jordan will play in the North/South Senior All-Star game tomorrow in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

BLA alumni stole the show in the USILA's announcement of DII All-Americans and player of the year honors.  An affirmation of their hard work and commitment to the sport, Mercyhurst LSM Greg Bensman, defensmen Andrew Wagner, and LeMoyne goalie Jeff White were each named NCAA DII first team All-American.  Yet, the recognitions didn’t end at All-American.  Perhaps a display of the depth and strength of the Buffalo Lacrosse Academy's talent pool, the trio made a clean sweep of player of the year accolades at the defensive end and even took the DII most outstanding player award.  White being named the DII Outstanding Goalie of the Year, Wagner the Outstanding Defensemen of the Year, and Bensmen the Long Pole of the Year as well as the NCAA DII Player of the Year.

Following an impressive undefeated season, Onondaga CC freshmen and BLA alumni James Maxwell and Shelton VanEvery run away with the NJCAA national championship in dominating fashion.  In its closets game of the season, OCC defeated Nassau CC 15-7 en route to their fourth consecutive national title.

LeMoyne Goalie Jeff White continues to collect conference accolades this season, recently being named to the Northeast-10 Conference first team.  After being named the conference goalie of the week an astonishing five times Jeff was also crowned the NE-10 Goalie of the Year.  With a save percentage of 65.1 and a conference low 3.89 goals against average, White will pilot the LeMoyne defense today against Limestone in the NCAA semi-final matchup in hopes of gaining a birth to the national championship on May 27.

Leading the Lakers to an undefeated 13-0 record, Mercyhurst defensemen Greg BensmanAndrew Wager, and Pat Maloney received East Coast Conference honors last week.  Bensman and Wagner were named as first team selections and Maloney a second team selection.  Bensman, who has forced 26 turnovers this season, gathered further recognition being tabbed as the conference Defenseman of the Year as well as the conference Player of the Year.  Additionally, Bensman was choosen for the Capitol One Academic All-District At-Large team.
Mercyhurst plays today for a chance to return to the national championship in the NCAA semi-finals at 2pm.

UMBC close defensemen Ethan Murphy earns America East All-Academic Team honors.  Murphy, a political science major, has posted an impressive 3.76 GPA.  Murphy has started all 12 games for the Retrievers and has a team high 12 caused turnovers.  Check out the link below for the full list of America East Conference awards:

Le Moyne goalie Jeff White has been named the Northeast-10 Conference goalie of the week for the fifth time in seven weeks.  Leading Le Moyne to an unblemished record thus far, White has been a wall between the pipes for the Dolphins with an astounding 3.89 goals against average.

Potsdam Senior defensemen Rashaun Durden named to the 2012 All-SUNYAC men's lacrosse second team.  This marks the third straight year Rashaun has been recognized with all conference honors.

Following a six goal performance against Union, Senior midfielder Jordan Collins-Hartwig was named the Liberty League Offensive player of the week.  Jordan's RIT Tigers are currently ranked 7th nationaly and are in a three way tie for first place in the Liberty League.

BLA alumni lead Keuka in rout of PSU-Abington.  Freshman Randy Gyergyek's career high five goal effort paced the Keuka Storm as they handled Penn State Abington on Saturday April 21.   Between the pipes freshman goalie Scott  Thielman recorded his second win of the season posting a shutout in the first 30 minutes of play.  Helping Thielman were two more BLA alumni, sophomores Justin Strain and Isaiah Nalls, both starting defensemen.  Strain collected five ground balls and added an assist, while Nalls scooped up a ground ball himself.  For the full summary, click the link below:

Junior LSM Ethan Murphy was selected as a captain of the UMBC lacrosse team earlier this season by his teammates.  Ethan has been a force on defense, scooping up 29 ground balls and causing 10 turnovers through 7 games already, but his talents don't stop on the field.  Murphy also excells in the classroom where he has been named to the America East honor roll in 2010 as well as to the Commissioner’s Honor Roll in 2011.

Three BLA alumni will have the opportunity to represent western New York on one of the biggest stages in lacrosse this weekend.  Redshirt freshmen Chris Kane and Kyle Henry (Syrcause), as well as true freshmen Brian Sullivan (North Carolina) will travel to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ for Sunday's games in the Konica Minolta Big City Classic.  Kane and Henry's Syracuse Orange will face-off against Duke at 4pm and Sullivan's UNC Tar Heels meet Johns Hopkins at 6:30pm.  Both games can be seen on ESPN 3 and ESPN U.  For more on the Big City Classic follow the link below:

Goalie Jeff White has continued to be a model of excellence this season leading his second ranked Le Moyne Dolphins to a 5-2 victory over Rollins last Saturday and thus helping his team remain unbeaten through 7 games.  White, the backbone of the Le Moyne defense, has now been named (Northeast-10) conference goalie of the week two consecutive times.  Check out the game summary and video highlights from the win over Rollins here: http://www.lemoynedolphins.com/sports/mlax/2011-12/releases/20120325_mlaxRollins

Senior captain and midfielder Jordan Collins-Hartwig helped direct the offense with 1 goal and 1 assist while junior LSM Luke Wolfe reinforced a strong defensive showing as #4 RIT remained undefeated in its Liberty League opener against Clarkson.  The BLA duo should prove to be strong leaders on and off the field for the Tigers this season.
